Fame Wammie winners include Duke Ellington, Patsy Kline, and

Big In New York
At the 2007 International Association for Jazz Education conference in New York, Word-Beat's CD Poetry, Prose, Percussion and Song was hailed as one of the 12 most important recordings of its kind.
IAJE's
round-table panel singled out Word-Beat as a leading collaboration in
the integration of poetry and music. Tom and Charles's work is in
the same genre made famous by the partnership of Langston Hughes
and Charles Mingus.
IAJE's
panel described Word-Beat's two recordings as "must-haves." It's a
great honor and we are delighted with IAJE's recognition.

New CD Renamed
Painting Time
There's so much enthusiasm around Tom's forthcoming CD that he's renamed it.
Formerly Time Tonic, the new project is Painting Time. In
this collaboration, Nasar Abadey (drums), Chris Battistone (trumpet),
John Jensen (trombone), James King (bass), and Bruce Swaim (saxophone)
perform all-original tunes using different qualities of sound -- or
tone-painting.
When it's out, you'll know first!

Just Released: Canciones Argentinas
Canciones Argentinas: It's here! Linda Teasley's first solo album of Argentine Songs is now available from Linda Teasley: contact LFTeasley@hotmail.com. Samples are on her new Web site: www.lindateasley.com, and the CD is soon to be available on CDBaby.
This
project is especially valuable because recordings of Argentine art
songs are rare. Linda selected these pieces for their high quality and
as a resource for voice teachers, students, singers, and anyone who
appreciates Argentina's culture.
The poetry sung in these pieces is outstanding. Lyrcs
include poetry from Gabriela Mistral, a poet laureate of Chile
(and the first Latin American woman to win the Nobel Prize for
Literature).
